Ms. Colleen O’Shea passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the age of 76 years. We remember Colleen as a loving and caring mother, a playful and affectionate grandmother, and a dedicated and gifted teacher, whose collegiality and love of children has left a legacy on her School Divisions. Colleen was an avid reader, a deep and spiritual thinker, a tireless hiker, an imaginative artist, an adventurous world traveler, and always willing to strike up a conversation. She immersed her grandchildren in worlds of fun and imagination and was a gracious host. She loved to dance, laugh, meet new people, and, most of all, celebrate with the people she loved. We will miss her joyful spirit. Colleen will be missed by her children, John (Tracy), Richard (Heather), and Kevin (Jill), and her grandchildren, Em, Eden, Christian, Liam, Vivienne, and Grace. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Lil, MaryEllen, and Patsy and her sister-in-law, Ann. Colleen was predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Bridget, a brother Neal, and a grandson, Jacob. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Colleen’s honor may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Canada at www.alzheimer.ca.
