Obituary
It is with great sadness that we mourn the sudden and unexpected death of Colleen Joyce Simpson on May 19th, 2022. Colleen was born November 11th, 1955 in Moncton, New Brunswick and was raised in Nova Scotia and Ottawa. Colleen worked most of her life in the Public Service of Canada, mainly with PWGSC and later, DND. She retired after a 35 year career, which she was very proud of and enjoyed immensely.
Colleen is survived by her parents Fabian and Agnes McDougall, her siblings Patricia McDougall (Jim Muise), Trevor McDougall, Joan (Richard) Conrad, and Sharon McDougall (Don Bova); her children Amanda (Chris) Verran, Rebecca (Gavin) Schwier, and Jeffrey (Deidre); as well as her grandchildren Devin, Savannah, and Alexa. Colleen also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Colleen was a lover of animals, and had many years of companionship from her four-legged friends. In her later years she moved back to Nova Scotia, which she had dreamed of being able to do once she retired. She had recently moved home to Ottawa to be closer to her parents. In Colleen’s memory, consider a donation to Diabetes Canada, or the animal shelter of your choice.
There will be a graveside service for those who wish to join the family, Friday June 10th at 10:30am in the Holy Family Mausoleum of Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street, Gloucester, Ontario.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Colleen J McDougall Simpson November 11 1955 May 19 2022 (age 66)..
