COUGHLIN, Clinton Allan Gordon (DOB: October 9, 1985 – Disappeared November 11, 2021 – Recovered March 17, 2022) At the young age of 36, Clinton was tragically and inexcusably stolen from our life. Clinton was the cherished, beloved and truly missed son of June and Allan (deceased 2014). Wonderful and loving brother, protector and friend to sisters Christine Wainwright and Laurel Coughlin. Adored and loving father, hero and best friend of Darren. Loved and dearly missed by his nieces Samantha Coughlin, Brianna Coughlin-Algar, nephews Travis Coughlin-Algar, Sean Wainwright and Curtis Wainwright.
Clinton cared about people in the purest way. He had a soul as deep as the ocean. A heart as big as the sky. He could talk to a stranger for hours and would usually end the conversation with a new friend. He never judged as he always tried to see the best in people, and was too trusting to a fault. What you saw was what you always got from him, and what you saw – if you were lucky enough to be his friend – was a truly delightful, generous, easy-going, fun and humorous human being, as well as a great storyteller. His true friends will attest how good he made them feel, how free they were to be themselves around him, and how their trust in him was never betrayed.
His love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending quality time with friends disappeared after the loss of his father and hunting buddy. Clinton will always be remembered as a knowledgeable, ethical hunter with a deadly sniper shot.
Clinton’s shame and struggles with addiction led him down the wrong path, to the wrong friends, to the wrong lifestyle. He often said that being with these people made you feel better about yourself, because you wouldn’t be judged. He had regrets that tore through his soul that he couldn’t forgive or forget. He carried great pain and self-loathing as he struggled with his issues.
Clinton is no longer in pain, but we are because he was taken from us. He is gone, yet we will continue to hurt, suffer and search for answers and ask how anyone could do this to him.
Forever in pain and sorrow. We love you Clinton.
