Memorial Donation
Clement Lee of Mulgrave passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on Sunday January 2, 2022. Born on February 18, 1932 in St. Mary’s Bay, Nfld., Clem was the eldest son of the late Edward and Margaret (Butler) Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Kevin (Tammy); brother, James Lee of St. John’s Nfld.; sisters, Helen Kauffelt of U.S.A.; and Marjorie (Reg) Wojciechowski of Vernon, B.C. Clem was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Allison and Brigid Lee; brothers, George and Herbert Lee.
Due to Clem’s father falling ill and eventually passing away, he went to work in the lumber woods of Newfoundland at a young age; then, as an Able Seaman on an Irving Tanker, to Acadia Fisheries in Mulgrave, and National Sea in Canso; where he earned his Mates and Captain Certification.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gallivan, the palliative care workers, nurses and staff of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held Tuesday January 4, 2022 at Mulgrave Resting Place, from 2-4pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Mulgrave on January 5, 2022 at 11am; Rev. J. Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Please note: as per Provincial Regulations, proof of full vaccination and masks are required to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass. A maximum of 50 people will be permitted to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass. Memorial Donations may be made to Mulgrave & Area Resting Place or St. Lawrence Parish Cemetery Fund
