He is survived by his children Gary (Stephanie) Nickerson & Sherry (Teddy) Nickerson, grandchildren, Stefan (Chandra) Nickerson, Desirée (Brent) Bezanson, Steven (Caitlin)Nickerson, Hanna (Skyler) Nickerson, great-grandchildren , Sophia , Jayden & Paisley; his sisters, Pauline (the late, Wayne) Goodick, Diane (Norman) Goreham, Pam (Basil) Banks, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the mother of his children, Anna and his second wife, Marie, his parents Norman & Leora; his siblings: Walden, Mitchell, Clarke, Frankie, Paul, Rosalee, Renee, Johnny, Melvin, Judy, & Jean-Marie; and his grandson, Justin. Being the oldest, Claremont quit school at 12 and helped to support his family until he married and had his own. He took his own boat and fished most of his working years, transitioning to lobstering in his later years up until retiring. His favourite pastimes included gunning and deer hunting with his son, Gary and spending time to his cottage with his wife, Marie, and watching his grandchildren play hockey at the arena with his beloved dog Sandy. He also enjoyed playing crib and dominos (until he started losing). His last few years he lived to Bayside Home where he was always well cared for and treated with much patience and kindness. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the emergency crew and Yarmouth hospital 3 South nurses, but especially the staff at Bayside home for their constant love and care. We will never forget your kindness. There will be a visitation held Thursday, 6-8 pm, at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, where the funeral service will follow on Friday, December 23, at 11 am, with Gary Cunningham officiating. There will be a livestream of this service for those unable to attend. Memorial donations may be made to the Old Kirk Cemetery, Bay Side Home Van Fund, or a charity of your choice.
