Obituary of Clara Helen Beyer
BEYER; Clara Helen (née Johnson)
Peterborough Market, Peterborough Market, Longtime Member of CWL – Douro
Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Clara, of 2nd Line, Douro-Dummer in her 97th year. She is reunited with her beloved husband of 70 years, Martin Beyer (2012), her son, Robert (1999) and her daughter, Linda Doucette (2014).
Clara built a beautiful legacy through her large family of 14 children. Her and Martin moved to Douro from Pembroke with their first two children to follow their dreams of owning a farm and where Clara so gracefully raised their 14 children. They established a successful entrepreneurship and reputation through the Peterborough Farmer’s Market. Clara was able to remain at the farm and live a long, happy life right up until the last few weeks of her life.
She will be forever loved and missed by her children, Patrick (Shirley) of Kingston, Bill (the late Pauline), Marty, and Jerry, all of Douro, Allan of Peterborough, Stan (Ivy) of Cobourg, Sharon Comeau (Russ) of Etobicoke, Neil (Debbie) of Lindsay, Gary of Simcoe, Karen Finn (Barry) of Kingston, Jim of Douro, and Ralph (Tracy) of Peterborough. She will be fondly remembered by her 34 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, her sister, Lillian Silverthorne of Trenton and her son-in-law, Dave Doucette. She is predeceased by her siblings, Irene Gauthier, Gwen Borax, and Ken Johnson.
Clara loved to be surrounded by family and had the magic touch and biggest smile for all the babies. The family holds comfort knowing that she will now smile over all the children from above.
The family would like to express their greatest appreciation to the nurses and staff at PRHC, especially, floor B6 and Emergency, for their utmost care and compassion.
Family and friends will be received at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
