Clara Reichert, aged 91, passed away peacefully at Manitou Lodge on Sept. 7, 2022.
Mom was born to Frank and Katharina Schleibinger on the family farm in Pierceland, SK, where she lived until she moved to Watrous in 1949. She was the second oldest of six siblings. Mom worked on the family farm and helped care for her younger siblings. Once in Watrous, she worked as a cook and even did catering. In 1953 she married and went on to have 12 children. She continued working in the restaurant business mainly the Centennial Cafe and Midway Restaurant until she started working at the Watrous Union Hospital where she worked in the kitchen until she retired. Even after retirement she continued to do catering and worked at the Manitou Regional Park.
Mom is survived by her children: Larry (Kathy), Pam (Ken), Jerry, Randy (Karla), Glenda, Brian (Kelly), Allan, Darrell (Tammy), Michelle, and Raymond (Myla), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by sister Liz; brother Willie and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Katharina, siblings George, Joe, and Molly, sons Murray and Donnie, and daughter-in-law Brenda.
A Private Family Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date. Interment Watrous Columbarium.
