Christopher William Smith “Smitty” of Tiverton passed away suddenly on Tuesday April 5th, 2022, in his 56th year.
Beloved and cherished husband of Cathy (Kate) Smith, cherished son of Didi Labonte (Steve Leturneau) and Geoffrey Smith. Loving father of Caitlyn (Rob) Wittman of Walkerton, Carly (Mark) McLelland of Hagersville, and special fur baby Biffle.
Proud papa of granddaughters Rozlyn and Harleigh.
Fondly remembered by his sister Sue (Brad) Fitzsimmons, brother Ken (Sandi) Smith, sisters-in-law Lori (Wayne) Shelton, Sheryl (Jeff) Elliott, Sharon (Mike) Moore, in-laws Barry and Liz Schmidt, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by stepfather Roland Labonte and niece Taylor Fitzsimmons.
Smitty will be truly missed by his family, life-long friends, and co-workers. His infectious personality and kindness followed him wherever he went. He added a special touch to any event or party he attended. His positive and easy-going attitude made him a pleasure to be around. His big smile and friendly wave will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home on Friday April 8, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Memorial Service to honour Chris’ life will be held on Saturday April 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the Kincardine United Church (721 Princes Street). Reverend Gord Dunbar Officiating. Anyone attending the Memorial Service must wear a mask.
If so desired, memorial donations in Chris’ memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kincardine Hospital Foundation or Huron Shores Hospice, would be appreciated by the family.
