Chris Duyvestyn 2022

Obituary of Chris Duyvestyn
Chris Duyvestyn left this world on Monday, September 5 th , 2022 at age 77, after falling ill
from Alzheimer’s. He is survived by his wife, Mieke, his two children, Martin and Nikki
and his four grandchildren who all loved their Opa. He was a hard-working, fun loving,
one-of-a-kind man who loved his friends and family, brightening the world around him.
His warmth, kindness and generosity will be his legacy. His love of all things plants and
flowers was wonderful to see and he regularly shared this passion with others. We know
he is enjoying his beautiful gardens in heaven. He will be sadly missed and will always
hold a special place in our hearts.
His favorite saying was “Today is a good day to have a good day”…advice that he lived by.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 18 th , 2022 at 2:30pm, at the
Maple Ridge Alliance Church (20399 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, BC). A live
stream link will be available for those that would like to join but cannot attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity, or his (The Rotary foundation),
would have been meaningful to Chris.
