Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Chesley Gordon Burt announce his peaceful passing at the Palliative Care unit in Corner Brook, NL on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the age of 91 years.
Chesley (Ches) retired from Corner Brook Pulp and Paper in 1987. Ches faithfully attended and served at First Pentecostal Church, Corner Brook for 70 years. Chesley and Ruby also served as foster parents for 30+ years and continue to be in close contact with many of the children.
Left to mourn are his wife of 70 years, Ruby Burt; son, Gary (Joy); daughters Pamela (George) and Marlene (Rick); their 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Chesley, Bob, Sam, Elwin Winsor, Howard Ball, and Rod Crocker; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Chesley is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Julia Burt; brothers George (Leona), and Leonard (Beulah); sister Dinah (Ches); parents-in-law Fred and Jessie Winsor; sisters-in-law, Judy, Joan, Phyllis (Fred), Jean, and Agnes.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the First Pentecostal Church, 58 Premier Drive, in Corner Brook at 2 PM with Rev. Larry Soper officiating. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery located on Batstone’s Road, Corner Brook. Flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Ches’ memory to a charity of one’s choice.
