Chasia Katko 1948-2022. Loving wife, step-mother, step grandmother, sister and friend. Devoted aunt. Passed away suddenly at her home.
Chasia was born in Kaunas, Lithuania to Miriam and Hershel Aufman. She obtained her textile engineering degree and moved to Israel at age 24. At 35 she moved to Canada and got married. Chasia spoke 5 languages, Lithuanian, Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish and English and was busy learning Italian.
Chasia was a vivacious women who had a deep love for her family. She had a passion for music, art, theater and nature. She was forever young at heart and the most compassionate and kind hearted soul. If she only had one shirt and you needed one, she would give you it. She loved hearing how others are doing but hated to talk about herself. To the world she was one person but to her family she meant the world.
