SCHIEDEL, Charlotte “Charlie”
Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, Ontario at the age of 81 years.
Loving mother of Cindy Fortuna (Derek Alldritt) and Tracey Perschbacher (Steve). Cherished Grammie of Katie Fortuna (Nicholas Hivon), Joey Fortuna, Sarah and Ellen Perschbacher. Dear companion of Jim Dobney of New Hamburg. Charlie is survived by nephew Mike (Kay), niece Tricia, and many friends.
Charlie is predeceased by her beloved husband Charles “Chuck” Schiedel (June 15, 2020), parents Ward & Dorothy (Stoltz) Weber, brother David and his wife Kathleen Weber.
Charlie was a life long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Kitchener. She was a lover of the outdoors. Even on the most miserable of days Charlie would be out walking with the neighbourhood women or could be found tending to her gardens with her buddies. She also enjoyed spending time in beautiful Sauble Beach at the cottage; always in the company of friends. Charlie found much joy in pickling every summer, passing along her tips to others as they learned to pickle with her. She had an amazing, witty, sense of humour that was well loved by all; including her most recent caregivers in Hospital and at Hospice Wellington.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Kitchener, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Nolan Astley officiating. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff of Hospice Wellington for the kind, compassionate care shown to Charlie and her family.
