It is with great sadness that the family of Charlotte Kim Dyck announce her peaceful passing at home on August 27, 2022 at the age of 58 years. Charlotte slipped into the arms of Jesus peacefully, with her family at her side. We will miss her tremendously. We are happy she no longer has to suffer and is in His glory. What a gift for her!
Charlotte was born February 19, 1964 in Charlottetown, PEI. She had fond memories of her childhood on the East Coast and enjoyed taking her family back there many times, visiting relatives and touring around the island.
She moved to Brooks in 1979 and after graduating high school attended SAIT to study business. Charlotte married the love of her life, John on July 26, 1986 at Trinity Lutheran Church, and they enjoyed 36 wonderful years of marriage together. Charlotte worked in accounting before starting her family. She continued to use her skills managing the farm books with excellence and pride. She was thrilled to become a mother and welcomed Amilyn in 1991 and Kathryn in 1997. Being a mom was one of her greatest joys.
Charlotte enjoyed her life on the farm and was a devoted wife and mother; she was selfless and cared for others with a gracious spirit. Despite ongoing and significant health challenges, Charlotte’s life was marked by thankfulness and joy. Spending time in her yard, hosting people in her home, and serving others were among many ways she lived a life of beauty and love. A highlight from the seasons of farming life was bringing meals to John and sharing time together in the tractor or combine.
Over the years the family enjoyed numerous trips together and spent many summer hours boating on Lake Newell. Charlotte was amazing and intentional at keeping in touch with relatives and friends and remembering special occasions. She was very involved at Trinity Lutheran Church and served faithfully there, as well as Crossroads Clinic for many years. Of most importance in Charlotte’s life was her faith in Jesus. This was evident through how she faced her many ongoing health challenges. She had remarkable strength and persevered through these difficulties without complaint. Through it all, she proclaimed, “God is Good” and was a powerful witness and inspiration to many.
Charlotte loved being a Nana! Henry, Olivia, and Maria brought her so much joy. She cherished the hours she was able to spend with her three precious grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband John, two daughters Amilyn Harvie (Jayden), Kathryn Dyck, three beautiful grandchildren Henry, Olivia, & Maria Harvie, her parents Al & Lynn Rogerson, sister Heather Roth (Shaun), brother Bruce Rogerson (Lynn), In-laws John & Gisela Dyck, sister-in-law Annemarie Barwich (Helmut), sister-in-law Monica Hielema (Stan), brother-in-law Thomas Dyck (Pam), and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In loving memory of Charlotte a Worship Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (811 Cassils Road W, Brooks, AB) on Saturday, September 3 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly in Charlotte’s memory to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada (crohnsandcolitis.ca), 240 Marlborough Way NE, Calgary, Alberta T2A 6R9 or to Crossroads Clinic (crossroadsclinic.ca), 650 Cassils Road E Ste. 1, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1M6.
