Charles Mitchell 2022

Charles’ Obituary
On Thursday, November 17, 2022, Charles (Charlie) Bertram Mitchell passed away at his home in Fairview, at the age of 74 years.
Charlie was born January 22, 1948, in Fairview Hospital, to Cora (Elliot) and Walter Bertram Mitchell, the second oldest of 9 siblings. He spent his youth in Eureka River on the family farm. Charlie quit school in grade 9 and worked in the area doing various jobs. When he struck out on his own, he worked in many places: from the Yukon to southern Alberta, finally settling into a career in trucking.
He met the love of his life, Linda Lee, and moved in together in March 1983. Two years later, he welcomed his daughter Candace into the world, then another child Aimee a year later.
Always a hard worker, Charlie retired at the age of 65. After retirement, he enjoyed reading, puzzles, watching shows like Ice Road Truckers and talking unplanned afternoon naps on the couch in front of the T.V. Charlie never met a single person he couldn’t get along with and could strike up a conversation with total strangers.
Charlie is survived by his loving partner of 39 years, Linda Lee. Together they had two children, Candace and Aimee Mitchell, along with his stepchildren Geraldine and Blake Lee. He was an amazing Grandpa to six grandchildren, and great grandpa of two. Charlie is suvived by four brothers and two sisters.
Charlie was a kind, loving and hardworking man and will be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held for Charlie in July 2023.
Donations may be made in Charlie’s name to STARS air ambulance.
