Obituary of Charles G. “Chuck” Donaldson
Of St. Thomas, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, in his 67th year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Liz” (née Wilkinson) Donaldson (Feb. 28, 2021). Loving step-father of Chris Hamilton (Sarah), Sherri Hamilton (Wil), Lauri Stover (Dave), and Scott Hamilton (Tammy). Dear brother of Paul, Robert “Bob” (Joan), James (Margaret), John, Pauline, and the late Sandra Donaldson. Chuck is also sadly missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families. Born in St. Thomas, April 17, 1956, he was a son of the late Charles R. and May (née Laur) Donaldson.
Chuck was a former inside contractor at the Sterling Truck Plant, St. Thomas. He was a member of Last Post Branch #410, Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley and the Elgin Regiment Veterans Association. Chuck was a former member of the Navy League Cadets, Scouts Canada, the Sea Cadets, the Elgin Regiment Militia, the Elgin Regiment Trumpet Band, and the Courageous Sailing Club.
A private service for the immediate family to celebrate Chuck’s life will be held at Elmdale Memorial Park, St. Thomas. Memorial donations to Last Post Branch #410, Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley, or Animal Aide will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
