Mr. Charles Joseph DeCaesteker, a resident of Port Lambton, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Vision Nursing Home, in Sarnia, at the age of 86.
Charles was born in Kingsville and was a son of the late Wilfred and Mildred (Fick) DeCaesteker.
Beloved husband of Nelly (Ameloot) DeCaesteker.
Loving father of Cheryl (Christopher) Byrne, Trisha (Todd) Brown and Charles DeCaesteker.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Amy Lacy, Chad Bentley, Tracy Gillanders, Kerry Lawrence, Christa Ottolia, Wes Brown, Davis Brown, Karissa and Emma DeCaesteker and 9 great grandchildren.
Kind brother and brother-in-law of Mary (John McGregor) Howard, Maria DeCaesteker and Linda DeCaesteker.
Predeceased by his brothers Roger DeCaesteker and Rudy DeCaesteker, Nelly’s parents Achiel and Alice Ameloot and his brothers-in-law Henry (the late Isabelle) Ameloot and Michael (the late Mary Ann) Ameloot.
He will also be missed by many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Charles was the past owner of Big Chief Drive-In in Wallaceburg for many years.
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 4, 2022 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, at 11:00 a.m.
Cremation will follow.
