CHARBONNEAU, Rocky
1944 – 2022
Rocky Andre Charbonneau, Age 77, of Kirkland Lake, ON, passed away on March 4th, 2022. A private funeral service will be for his immediate family only. The Charbonneau family will be having a celebration of life in June 2022 to honor his life and memories.
Rocky was born in Timmins, ON to Wilfred Charbonneau and Blanche Ducharme on October 21st, 1944. He went to high school at K.L.C.V.I and graduated in 1963. He worked as a highly-skilled motor winder for Westinghouse / Siemens for over 50 Years.
In his younger years, he enjoyed exploring which included trips with his friends to Florida and attending the World’s Fair, and watching the Beatles in NYC. Also, he had adventures surfing in California and living a small brief time in Paris, France… well at least until his best friend Dave Garbutt bailed him out with his saved-up wedding money to get home. He also was a skilled performer in waterski kite shows to demonstrated what an adventurous human being he really was.
He always enjoyed helping people in his later years, if it was to paint a room or fix a door you could always count on Rocky to lend a helping hand and give a kind smile.
Rocky loved spending time with his grandchildren which always made his inner child shine through. You couldn’t keep off a trampoline with them so he could show off his earlier years as an accomplished high school gymnast.
Family trips to Hawaii had him surfing, ziplining, and jumping off cliffs, and multiple trips to Disney World that allowed his granddaughters to convince him to go on their favourite rides.
One of his greatest accomplishments was to see his sons grow up and get married. He always made sure to tell them how proud he was of how amazing men they turned out to be. He proved to be the greatest husband and father despite having a very rough childhood.
Lastly was his companion and forever love, Linda. Their loving marriage of 45 years proved the stand of time. They demonstrated their love through our family with cherished memories and absolutely no regrets.
Rocky is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, his children, Mark and Darcy, his daughter-In laws, Sandy and Christina & his grandchildren, Ava and Ashlyn as he was better known a G-PA.
Rocky was also survived by his best friends growing up including Dave Garbutt, Sigmund “Ziggy” Wojnas, Keith Wilson, and Ken Roughley.
May the world never forget his smile, tender voice, great humour, kind heart, and beautiful soul. We are so blessed to have him as our forever guardian angel looking over and always protecting us.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of CHARBONNEAU Rocky 1944 2022..
