Charalambos Halamandaris 19342022

It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband and father Lambis Halamandaris on May 14, 2022. Lambis Halamandaris was born on August 29, 1934 in Suez Egypt. He graduated from the Hellenic Community High School in 1951 and then moved to Cairo to pursue his studies in Commerce at the Technical College. Upon graduation, Lambis returned to Suez and began working for Shell Refineries. In 1961 he gained employment with the French computer company Bull, where he traveled to France to complete his stage. During this period Lambis was very involved in the Greek community, especially in scouting which is where he met his future wife Tina. With his background in mainframes and his fluency in five languages, Lambis arrived in Canada in 1969 where he found employment with Philips Electronics. Shortly thereafter, the family became integrated in the Greek community, becoming members of the Hellenes of Egypt social club, where life-long friendships were forged. The group would meet at least once a week at their silogo to share a game of cards and dance the night away. Lambis’s love for family and friends was equally matched by his passion for cooking which was shared by his two daughters. Thanks for the hacks Dad! Dad cooked and mom baked. That’s the way it was. In addition to his busy schedule, he managed to find time to go to church every Sunday and sing in the choir, as well as prepare the scouts on the drums for the Easter procession. In his position as a flight simulator instructor at CAE, Lambis traveled around the world where he made many acquaintances. Upon retiring from CAE, along with his beloved wife Tina, he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandkids. Lambis celebrated every special event with his family and these will be the memories which we will cherish forever. He was a kind hearted, spiritual man who adored his wife, kids and grandkids enormously. He leaves to mourn his wife Tina, his daughters Andrea (Panico) and Georgia (Bruno) and his grandkids George, Harry, Alexa and Julian. He is predeceased by his brother Pandy and survived by his brother Elias (Mary), as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive condolences on Wednesday May 18 from 6-9pm at Yves Légaré, 1350 Autoroute 13, Laval, QC H7X 3W9. A church service will be held on Thursday May 19 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (3780 Chemin du Souvenir) at 11am followed by interment at Notre-Dame-de-l’Espérance cemetery, 1759 Antoine Dalmas, Laval-Ouest, QC, H7Y 2A8.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Charalambos Halamandaris 19342022..
