Chantal Stella Atkinson 19692022

Chantal Stella Atkinson
1969-2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of
Chantal Stella Atkinson (nee Despres) of Moncton on Saturday, December
17, 2022 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a valiant 3 year
battle with Multiple Myeloma at the young age of 53.
Chantal was known for her bright positive outlook on life, a
big heart, a generous spirit, and very strong faith. She was always
developing meaningful friendships wherever her life’s path
took her. She was cherished by all who got to know her. Chantal
graduated from Moncton High School in 1987 and, with pride, from
Acadia University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She
enjoyed her career with Service Canada.
She will forever be in the hearts of her husband Norman, her
mother Lorraine (Bourgeois) Despres (Raymond Leger) of Moncton, her
father Ivon Despres of Memramcook, several aunts, uncles, and cousins,
her cherished friends, and her two goddaughters Chelsea Bent and
Sophie Sheppard. She was predeceased by her sister Michelle Despres,
her maternal grandparents Joseph and Stella Bourgeois and her paternal
grandparents George and Marie Despres.
There will be a small private service at Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview
(869-2007) on Wednesday, December 21st.
Donations in Chantal’s memory made to Myeloma Canada,
Harvest House Atlantic, or a charity of the donor’s choice
would be greatly appreciated by the family.
