Celina Rose LeBlanc 2022

Célina Rose’s Obituary
Célina (Comeau) LeBlanc
In the stillness of a calm summer evening and the comfort of her home surrounded by family who cared and loved her, Célina peacefully and quietly ended her earthly journey of 96 years on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Born in Comeauville on December 23rd 1925, daughter of the late Leger and Eveline (Robichaud) Comeau, she was the eldest of four children. She was last surviving member of her immediate family.
Célina was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; sister, Soeur Aline Comeau fj.; brothers, Médric (Late Delia) Comeau and Hubert (Late Louise) Comeau.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Malou), Ottawa; Rose-Aline (Graeme) Gawn, Meteghan Centre; Emile (Tracey), Meteghan Station; Charles (Sheila), Calgary, BC; eight grandchildren, Adrian, Alicia, Brian, Ian, Eric, Avery, Celina and Danielle.
In her teens, Célina attended school in Cap-de-la-Madelaine at Notre Dame du Cap, Québec. Returning to her Acadian community, she supported the family homestead until relocating to Meteghan Centre in 1956 following her marriage to Wilfred LeBlanc. Célina lived a life of dedication to family, friends, community and God. During 25 years, she and her family supported Wilfred in his role as Manager of the Meteghan Ambulance Service. Being pre 911 dispatch technology, Célina received emergency calls in their family home, located and dispatched ambulance staff and maintained radio communications with ambulance staff during their emergency calls. She also supported laundry for the ambulances, maintained call volume records, prepared reports to provincial ambulance authority as well as the ambulance service accounting; all while raising a family of four. The smell of freshly baked cookies, cakes, pies and home cooked meals flourished her kitchen. The LeBlanc home was a place where everyone was welcome. A quilt in progress was a common fixture in her home as she crafted numerous quilts for her children and other family members.
Célina was a member of the Meteghan Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Member of Les Dames Patronesse de Clare, Les Dames de St. Anne, and Volunteer Campaign collector for the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Society as well as many other local associations and charities. She was also an avid card player.
She was a devout Catholic whose faith in God guided her entire life. Following her retirement, she treasured her pilgrimage trips to St. Anne de Beaupré.
Her kindness and positive attitude will long be remembered by family and friends who had the fortune to know her on her earthly journey.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Meteghan Funeral Home where public visitation will take place on Friday, July 8th, 2022 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A funeral mass will be held in Stella Maris Church, Meteghan on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Mathieu Agbaya officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Celina’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (Beatitudes / Matthew Ch5 vs 8.
