Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cavell Jane Flowers (King). Cavell battled Mestatic Breast Cancer for close to eight years and she passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022 at the Athabasca Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Cavell was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick on June 28, 1964 and lived most of her later childhood in Fort McMurray, AB, where she graduated from Fort McMurray Composite High School.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Shawn; four children: Stephen, Jessica, Daisy and Gracie; mother and father: Cy and Betty King; her brother Dale King; her sister-in-law Michelle; mother-in-law Sharon Flowers; and her brother-in-law Richard Flowers. Cavell was also blessed with and leaves behind 5 beautiful grandchildren: Amelia, Spencer and Lola (children of Stephen and Jessica) and Sophie and Ivy (children of Jessica); her nephews: Levi and Jacob (children of Dale and wife Michelle), and Ashton, Zackery and Mitchell (children of Richard); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cavell fought a long courageous battle, but it never affected her spirit and love for her family and friends. She will be missed and remembered in so many ways. She had touched so many lives and left a lasting impression on all hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Athabasca Multi-Plex on Friday, September 16th at 12:00pm (noon), with a public viewing at 11:00am.
Donations in memory of Cavell can be made to the Athabasca Native Friendship Centre’s School Lunch Program, 4919-53rd Street, T9S 1L1, or to a charity of your choice.
Cavell is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Cavell Jane Flowers June 28 1964 September 12 2022 (age 58)..
