(formerly Powers, nee Wattam), ‘Aunt Cathie’ ‘Kay’ –
Entered into rest on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Belleville General Hospital, Catherine Rands of Picton died at the age of 100. She was the daughter of the late Herb & Margaret Wattam (nee Kerr) and she was the wife of the late George Powers and the late Clyde Rands. Catherine was the loving mother of the late Scot Powers (surviving Louise) of Picton and Nancy Bailey (Brent) of Toronto. She was the dearest grandmother of Darcy, Calum (Brennan), Travis (Christina) Zach, and Lauren and great grandmother of Max. Catherine is predeceased by her brother David Wattam and her sisters Betty Wattam and Jeanne Webster and she will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rands is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street West, Picton (613-476-2450). In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, her body was donated to Queen’s University – School of Anatomy for medical research. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Cressy Cemetery at a later date.
