Catherine J. Fudge
Long Island
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our dear sister and aunt, Catherine Jane Fudge, age 70, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Halifax on October 13, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Young) Cassidy. She worked in the Immigration Dept for the Federal Government in Kitchener, Ontario until her retirement. She returned home to Cape Breton following retirement and enjoyed travelling and golfing with her husband David.
Catherine is survived by her brother Robert (Denise) Cassidy, Long Island, her nephews Paul (Lori) and Christopher, her uncle Cyril Young, brother-in-law Wayne Fudge, sisters-in-law Elizabeth (Tom) Standing, Theresa (Charlie) Blackie, Dorothy (Dave) Smith, Pauline (Steve) MacKeigan, Marilyn Fudge, also survived by nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Charles and Mary Cassidy, Catherine was predeceased by her husband David, brothers Cyril and Charlie, sister-in-law Paulette Cassidy, brothers-in-law Ben Fudge, Raymond Witherall, Graham McManus, Alex Fudge, sister-in-law Sandra, mother and father in-law Edith and Robert Fudge.
A funeral service for Catherine will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Deacon David Lewis officiating.
