Obituary
“You will guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will receive me into glory.” Psalm 73:24
On Sunday November 13th, 2022, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister in the Lord, Catharina Kuntz was promoted to heavenly glory.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Rita (Bill), Cora (Fred), Carla (Richard), Jeff (Cynthia), and Roger (Cindy); two daughters-in-law, Elma and Carol; 26 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Jake (2010), and her sons, John (2013) and Henry (2008).
Cathy was born in Hansweert, the Netherlands. Her family moved to Groningen during World War II. In the late 1940’s she met her future husband, and they were married on February 16th, 1951. They immigrated to Canada right after their marriage and eventually settled in Edmonton where they raised their family. They moved to Surrey B.C. in 1982 and returned to Edmonton in 1998 where they retired and spent time with their children and grandchildren. Oma will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord, her love for her family and her kindness to others. She gave thanks every day for the blessings God had given her.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, between 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Foster & McGarvey, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Immanuel Canadian Reformed Church, 5280 Edgemont Boulevard NW (Old address 21112 35 Ave NW Edmonton, Alberta has been replaced by the above address. Old address may still be more accurate using online mapping tools).
