Obituary of Cathaleen (Weya) Mary-Crane Goodstoney

December 21, 2022 – Edmonton, Alberta
Cathaleen “Weya” Goodstoney of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the age of 25 years.
Cathaleen was an open book to anyone that would listen. Often telling stories of her crazy adventures. She was a lover of many things, but she enjoyed music, horses, photography, and poetry. She enjoyed her makeup in particular, eyelashes and eyebrows. Cathaleen was very outspoken, often the loudest in the room. She could make anyone laugh. Cathaleen enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as baking with her two girls. She had a voice of an angel and loved singing.
Cathaleen is survived by her two beautiful daughters, Tierra Mary and Leah Catherine; her brothers, Keenan Crane, Brendal Crane, and Robert Jacobs; her sisters, Denae Crane, Ravenel Shade, and Chalsea Simon, her mom, Deanne Simon-Powderface, aunty mom, Pearl Big Plume; her nieces, Cree Crane and Peyton Blackwater; her aunties; Wanda Simon, Melody Wesley, Marlene Goodstoney, Cecilia Rollingmud, Elrina Goodstoney, Agnus (Kevin) Dixon, Eliane Rollingmud, and Lowana Kootenay, and her uncles, Dean Simon, Terry Simon, Conrad Wesley, Richard Big Plume, Glen Goodstoney, Terry (Leeanna) Goodstoney, Sanford Goodstoney, Hirum Kootenay, and Peter (Lisa) Manywounds and her grandfather Sam Simon. She is also survived by her best friends, Austin Eagle Bear and Jaclyn Manning.
She was predeceased by her dad, Collin Goodstoney, maternal grandmother Deborah Big Plume, and great-grandmother Mary Simon, and great-grandfather Sam Simon; paternal grandmother Mary-Margret Goodstoney, and grandfather Jack Dylan Goat, and older brother Frank Big Plume. She is also predeceased by her stepdad, Devalon Powderface and her bestfriends, Zoey Dodginghorse, and Izzy.
Cathaleen enjoyed living her life to the fullest, she definitely had a heart of gold and will be missed by all.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Deanne Simon-Powderface at Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace on Thursday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuut’ina Cemetery (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB) with meals being given out following the graveside service at the Bullhead Hall. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
