MILLER, Carron Odessa
(Crowe) – 79, Alton, NS
It is with deep
sadness that the family of Carron Odessa (Crowe) Miller announce her
peaceful passing on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Colchester East
Hants Health Centre. She was born in Truro, Nova Scotia and
was the daughter of the late Bantford Crowe and Margaret
“Peggy” (Holmes) Crowe.
Carron is survived by
her husband, Nelson, Alton; son, Michael (Kelly) Miller, Alton;
daughter, Debbie (Evan) Wynn, Crowes Mills; grandson, Christopher and
granddaughter, Megan and sister, Phyllis (Del) Bard, Olds, Alberta;
along with 4 nephews and 2 nieces.
Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by her brother, William “Bill” Crowe;
sister, Carol Daly; grandson, Ryan Wynn and nephew, Billy
VanTassell.
After high school,
Carron took up hairdressing at Lenore’s Beauty Parlour in
Truro, where she built a great clientele. She then worked at
Zeller’s in Truro for a period of about 3 years.
At that point she decided to not work but to stay home and raise her
two children. Later, after her children were older, she went
back to worked at Stanfield’s for 18 years where she became
a floor Supervisor and then retired. While home with her
family, she was never idle and always keeping herself busy.
She loved to sew and garden. Carron took pride in her home,
and she was always doing renovations or redecorating, painting and
wallpapering. She was very handy with a hammer and
saw. She helped her father build a cottage at Brule and she
also helped Nelson to build a cottage on Loon Lake where she and her
family spent many years enjoying cottage life at both
places. She had a passion for music. She loved to
play the ukulele and passed her talents to the local children in the
community by teaching them how to play. Carron’s
love for birds and animals was profound. You could find her
on many days feeding the birds and watching animal documentaries on
the TV. She supported many charities where conservation of
declining species is their focus.
We the family would
also like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses on E2 Wing and D3 Wing
of the Colchester East Hants Regional Health Centre for the wonderful
care and compassion shown to her while she was in
hospital.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro
