December 14, 1943 – February 15, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Caroline (“Carrie”) Fanny Oake announce her passing at her home in Glenwood on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the age of 78 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Lester Francis; her parents Harold Oake and Phillipina Oake (nee Gillingham); her brothers Gerald Bursey, Donald Bursey, Raymond Bursey and Wallace Bursey; her sister Velma Bath (nee Oake); and her brothers-in-law Cluney Nippard and Ellis Bauld.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Paula (Derek); her sons Dwight (Joanne), Darren (Phyllis), Dean (Nancy), and Dion; her grandchildren Ashley (Jamie), Nicholas, Hayley, Mikayla, Nathan and Sleena; her great grandchildren Mackenzie and Madison; her brothers Albert Oake (Helen) and Ellis Oake (Vera); her sisters Netta Nippard (nee Bursey) and Jean Bauld (nee Bursey); and many nieces and nephews.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander.
In keeping with Carrie’s wishes, there will be a private family viewing followed by cremation and a funeral service to be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Glenwood. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carrie’s memory may be made to the Gander and Area Food Bank.
