Carol Anna Eva Lalonde (nee Derouchie) age 51 of Lancaster, surrounded by her family, left us peacefully at the Cornwall Hospice after a long 4-year, courageous battle with cancer. Carol leaves her beloved husband and best friend John C. “Jack” Lalonde, her daughter Chelsea Roy, stepdaughters Tracy Lalonde, Kellie Lalonde (Cory Eastman) and her precious, loving grand daughter Whilhelmina ‘Willa’ Chey, that made her sparkle. Dear sister of Mike (Louise) of Moose Creek, Keith (Darquise) of Apple Hill, Claudette Seguin (Paul Boyer) of Monkland, Charlene Avery of Massena and Christine Derouchie (Robert Waldorf) of Glen Walter. Predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Donalda Derouchie (nee Poirier). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Carol fought a tough battle with 3 different aggressive cancers over 4 years. She loved all her daughters and was especially protective of Chelsea. Carol loved her job as a PSW and started at the Cornwall Hospice from day one in 2009. She loved all her co-workers very much and it showed how they looked after her in her time of need. Everyone will remember her big heart, beautiful smile, bright blue eyes, great smile and great sense of humour. She loved caring for others. Carol loved the simple quiet life. She was a beautiful caring person that loved her close family and dog, Tia. Carol is now at peace and will reunite with her lost loved ones. A special ‘thank you’ to Dr. Anthony Di Cintio (palliative) and Dr. Mark Clemons (oncologist) and many more. A warm ‘thank you’ to the Cornwall Hospice and their wonderful staff for making Carol very comfortable and our family so welcomed. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St., Lancaster (613-347-3629). A Private Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Cornwall Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
