Obituary
Carol Boitson
1946-2022
Carol Anne Boitson (nee Mills) passed away at her residence in Gimli, Manitoba on February 16, 2022.
Carol was born in Deloraine, Manitoba on March 16, 1946 to William “Len” and Dorothy (Stenhouse) Mills of Boissevain, Manitoba.
In 1950, Carol’s family moved to Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. Her parents started up Dorothy’s Café in 1959 and ran the business until their retirement in 1974. She had many happy memories of working with her family in the restaurant, which served up “the best fries in town”. In fact, that is where Carol met Andrew in 1965. They were married on March 4, 1967 and raised three boys together.
Carol loved living in the Winnipeg Beach area and was a familiar face at many local events. In recent years, she enjoyed reminiscing and posting old photos of the town and the original Dorothy’s Café on local social media pages. She also cherished working on family genealogy projects with her brother John.
Carol was predeceased by her parents and her eldest son Randy. She is survived by her husband Andrew, two sons Ryley and Robert (Audrey), brother John and his family, and her cherished grandson Wil.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Diabetes Canada, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Cancer Care Manitoba.
