Obituary of Carol Ann Kanary, Glace Bay
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mom, and Nana, Carol Ann Kanary, 77, on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the CBRH, Sydney, after a short battle with cancer.
Carol was born in New Brunswick on February 8, 1944. She was the loving daughter of Sadie (Robinson) Lyons and Henry Lyons, and sister to George, Helen, and Gertie.
She was a giving person, who loved baking, dancing, quilting, and challenging crossword puzzles. She was blessed to have wonderful family, friends, and neighbours who meant the world to her.
She is survived by her husband Joe, her two children, Joe (Kristie), and David (Lisa), her five grandchildren, Conor, Damon, Ceilidh, Logan, and Anna.
Carol was a long-time member of Holy Cross Parish in Glace Bay. Many thanks go out to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, and the caring support that they provided.
Memorial donations in memory of Carol Ann may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 28th, 2022 at 10 am in Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. Interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
