Carmen’s Obituary
CROWELL, Carmen Rachel – age 69, of Kemptville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Halifax Infirmary, surrounded by her loving children. Born March 22nd, 1953 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Irene (Ryerson) Hamilton. Carmen worked as a RN in Shelburne and Yarmouth. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was often called upon, by many in the community, for her nursing knowledge and experience. Carmen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent holding hands with her husband and spending time with her family. After losing her husband in 2011, she worked through that loss by helping others and by supporting her children and family. Every Valentine’s Day she would give flowers to those feeling the loss of their loved ones, knowing the heartache they also suffered. Carmen is survived by her children Lawana (Paul) MacDonald, Kelsey (Katrina) Crowell and Nalysha Crowell; grandchildren Nolan, Karli, Nataya, Jarrett, Riley and Jayden; brothers Terry, Kevin, Lance and Thane and their families. Aside from her parents, Carmen is predeceased by her husband Edward Crowell and her brother Kip. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 21st, at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A funeral service will take place at 2 P.M Wednesday, June 22nd from H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Pastor Craig Minard officiating. Interment will follow in East Kemptville Cemetery. A Reception will be held at the Carlton Firehall following the burial. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Carmen may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation. You may leave messages of condolence or sign the on-line guestbook by visiting www.huskilson.net.

Death notice for the town of: Shelburne, Province: Nova Scotia
Family Crowell: It is with sadness and sympathy for the loss of your mother grand mother and friend. Carman was one of my classmates .For the last 35 years we were in touch . Her family was the dearest thing to her and she loved it when she became a grand mother. She was always a very caring person. I am sure you have many wonderful memories that will help you during the coming months and years. Treasure her gift of such a loving parent. As a parent myself she and I shared many stories of our children and grand children. Take good care of one another . My sincere sympathy . God bless. Edith Burry
