It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Carmelita Walsh of Little Bay announces her passing. Carmelita passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Friday, November 4th, 2022, at the age of 71.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her partner, Roland Winter of 25 years; sons, Robert Walsh of Garnish, Joseph Walsh (Amy) of Mount Pearl, and Shawn Walsh (Meaghan) of Marystown; daughter, Ruta Kalvaitis Skucas (Tomas) of U.S.; stepson, Jason Winter (Rita) of Manitoba; stepdaughter, April Deering (Trevor) of Camplleton; grandchildren, Mitchell, Dylan, Lucas, Bobbilee, Megan, Emily, Sara, Kalem, Jonas, Daumantas and Darius; great-grandson, Ryker; step-grandchildren, Tyson, Anna Lynn, Madison, Carter, Caleb, Isaiah, Savanna; step-great-granddaughter, Amara; furbaby, Patches; plus a large circle of family and friends.
Carmelita was predeceased by parents, Peter & Beatrice Dober; brothers, James Dober (Elizabeth), Joseph Dober, Valentine Dober and Anthony Dober; and sisters, Margaret Farrell and Mary Farewell.
Carmelita had a tremendous love for her family and spending as much time as she could with each of
them. She was always there no matter what. She would never go a day without a good morning and
good night phone call.
She had a love for volunteering her time helping out in the community. Her favorite pass time was a
good game of bingo.
She was devoted to her partner Roland and their life together. Her love as a mother will always hold a
very special place in their hearts.
The Walsh Family would like to send a special thank you to everyone who helped Carmelita throughout her
journey, especially Dr. McCarthy, and the many nurses and staff at the BPHCC.
In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place.
The Walsh Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes, Marystown on
Monday, November 7
10am – 12noon
2pm – 4pm
7pm – 9pm
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Inurnment to follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Little Bay.
In Carmelita’s memory, donations may be made to Daffodil Place or flowers gratefully accepted.
