Obituary – Carmela Staniscia
It is with immense sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our family matriarch Carmela Staniscia. Carmela was called by God on December 27, 2022 at the age of 78. As a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother, she dedicated her life to her family. Her memory will forever live on through her daughters, Lisa and Joanne (Joseph).
Adoring Nonna to AnnaMaria and Sophia. She was happiest when surrounded by her granddaughters. Carmela spent so much time with her granddaughters; cozy sleepovers, movie nights, going to the park, baking and making pizza together. Nonna spoiled and loved her granddaughters with all her heart.
Carmela will be deeply missed by the Marchese Family, she was a second mom to everyone and she radiated love to all the Marchese grandchildren. Nonna Carm, we will miss taking you to the farm and we will miss your specialty dishes that you brought to our table. We will miss your double espresso shots with Sambuca and we will miss your laughter.
Carmela will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives and many friends, including her sisters, Mary (John), Josie, Linda and her nephews Gianpaolo (Cristina) and Daniel (Laura). She will be reunited in heaven with her beloved father, Donato, her beloved mother, Concetta and her beloved brother Joseph.
Carmela will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her selflessness, her generosity and her honesty. Carmela was strongly connected to her Italian heritage sharing her love of food, her love of dancing and loved to socialize with her family and friends. She was very active and always kept herself busy making her famous pies; lemon meringue for Joanne, apple pie for Lisa or Joey’s cheese cake. Her hobbies included bowling, badminton, live shows and trips to the casino. She loved to travel and was always ready for the next adventure. She will always be remembered by her love of life, her compassion and kind-hearted nature.
While we mourn her passing, we celebrate her incredible life journey and are grateful that we were able to build many memories together. Her memories will be cherished in our hearts forever. Rest in Eternal Peace Nonna Carm.
