Carl G. Joss, 91, sadly passed away Friday, March 25th, 2022, at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket Ontario.
Born on January 29th, 1931, in Toronto. Carl is predeceased by his father, Charles, mother, Alice, and his five siblings, Charles, Eileen, Edna, Dorothy and Audrey.
A graduate of Western Tech High school, he began his career at IBM in February 1950 as a Toolmaker Apprentice at the Campbell Avenue plant. He was promoted to department technician in 1966 and to plant manager in 1968. Carl went on to manage plants in Winnipeg, Montreal and Don Mills in Toronto, where he retired after 42 years, in 1992.
Carl leaves behind the love of his life of 47 years, Lil Velders, and will be deeply missed by his four sons, Michael, Brian (Cathy), Kevin (Lesley), and Jeffrey (Laura). Cherished Pappy of his seven grandchildren, Calvin, Katie, Carson, Garrett, Easton, Emma, Oliver, and two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Anna.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carl’s life on Friday April 1, 2022, from 11 to 1 p.m. with remembrances at 12:30 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or Hospital for Sick Children in Carl’s memory.
