Obituary
Carl Edwin Rogerson 1934 – 2022 (Carl’s Experienced Equipment) Carl went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 16th at Health Sciences North in Sudbury after a short illness. Carl leaves to mourn his wife of 70 year Ella-Mae (nee Sweet), he was the father of six children Susan (Joe), Terry (Kathy), Nancy (Doug), Gail predeceased 2022 (Maurice), Daniel (Becky), Trevor (Marcella). Carl was grandpa to 10 grandchildren Brandi, Erin, Melanie, Jeremy, Melissa, Andrew, Sarah, Dylan, Joshua and Karis. He was also the proud great grandfather to 21.
Carl began his working life at the age of 14 on the railway which eventually brought him to North Bay. In 1957 he opened a small business to repair oxygen and acetylene torches and regulators from there he became the owner operator of RONASCO Welding Supplies. After several years an opportunity opened for him to purchase a large piece of property on McKeown Avenue and he began running a fleet of 18 wheelers covering all over America and Canada. This then led to another company under the name of MAYCAR where he became interested in Sea Containers and started selling and renting them. You will see containers all around North Bay and area which have come from Maycar and his current Company “Carl’s Experienced Equipment”.
Along with running these successful businesses he and Ella were fortunate to be able to spend 33 winters in Florida. One of his favorite things to do in Florida was shuffleboard, he started out as an amateur and over the years became a pro. He and Ella travelled not only in Florida doing shuffleboard tournaments but also here in Canada he was in many tournaments both in Ontario and across Canada.
Back in 1957 not only did Carl begin a business he also came to know Jesus has his personal Savior and continued to worship Him and serve him up until his home going. He leaves a wonderful legacy for his family to follow and we will certainly miss him. Special thank you to the Doctors and nurses in CCU at North Bay Regional Health Centre and to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Sudbury Health Centre for their great care of Dad and us the family upon his passing.
Visitation for Carl will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 at Hillside Funeral Services Airport Road in North Bay and Celebration of life will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Bethel Gospel Chapel, 781 Tackaberry Drive, North Bay.
