Obituary
Passed peacefully away at The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
Predeceased by his first wife Ruby, father and mother, Lewis and Rebecca Andrews, step-sister, Emily (Thomas), who raised him, sister, Martha (Garland), brothers, George, Max, step-sister, Lovey, step-brother, Lewis, 2 infant granddaughters.
Left to mourn his wife of 42 years, 11 months, Shirley (Warford); daughters Christine (Barry); Tassie (Gerald); Marigold (Lee); Tammy (Rick); son, Timothy (Krista); special daughter Teena (Redvers); Tom(Florrie); step-children, Joy (Terry), Lee (Marcie), Wayne (Sharon), Roxanne (Daryl), Boyd, Paul (Pauline).
Grandchildren – Mark, Marty, Cheyenne, Jerry, Jonathan, Aaron, Aleks, Kheri, Bella, Vincent, Colin; 12 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Teri-Lynn, Nancy, Jeremy, Matthew, Andrea, Laura, Brad, Brent, Ashlee, Kaitlyn, Colin; 11 step-great=grandchildren.
Pearce grew up in La Scie and worked in Tilt Cove mines for a while, fished for a short time, and spent a number of years as Saw Mill operator. In January, 1976 Pearce and his wife Ruby left La Scie and became Envoys with the Salvation Army. After Ruby’s passing, Pearce and his second wife, Shirley continued as Officers until they retired in June, 1997. His appointments were: Norris Arm, Fairbanks, Embree, Fortune, Musgravetown, Morteon’s Harbour.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 3 – 5 pm and from 7 – 9 pm at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Funeral Service will take place at The Salvation Army Conception Bay South Corps on Wednesday, June 29th at 2pm. Interment to take place on Friday, July 1st at the Salvation Army Cemetery, La Scie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Captain Andrews’ memory may be made to the Salvation Army, La Scie, NL.
