Campbell Leroy Munroe 1937 2022

MUNROE, Campbell L.
Pictou
It is with great sadness that the family of Campbell Leroy Munroe of Pictou announce his passing on June 10, 2022 at home with his family by his side. Born in Philips Harbour, he was a son of the late George and Annie (Williams) Munroe. Campbell is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Doris Munroe (Pettipas); daughter, Donna (Tim) Gillis; son, Kevin (Cindy) Munroe; grandchildren, Owen (Jess), Zack (Maria), Ethan, Nick, Abbey, Cameron, Baillie and Samantha (Sandy); special nieces, Eileen, Tanya, Tina and Maggie; special nephews, Bruce and Sonny plus many more scattered across Canada that all played a special part in his life. He was predeceased by sisters, Shirley, Nellie, Hattie, Edith and Wilda; brothers, Clayton, Russell, Carl, Sanford, Emmett and Ross. Campbell worked for over 30 years at Superior Propane where he formed many friendships driving his big yellow truck and had an abundance of stories of his travels to share with his family. Campbell loved hockey. He was a great supporter of his grandchildren’s teams, the Scotians (where you would see him selling tickets at the mall for the team), the Crushers (thank you David McCarthy for being his hockey buddy) and of course his NHL team The Chicago Blackhawks. In Campbell’s memory donations can be made in the form of a blood donation to the Canadian Blood Services. Campbell made many donations over the years. Monetary donations can be made to the Pictou County Palliative Care Society. Special Thanks to EHS, VON Continuing Care, Aberdeen Emergency Department staff, Four North Aberdeen Hospital staff, Rachel MacDonald Palliative Care, Dr Howard, Dr. Sree, and Dr MacDougall. Your professional compassionate care was greatly appreciated. Visitation will take place Monday June 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. The funeral service will take place at McLaren Funeral Home on Tuesday June 14 at 3:30 PM with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
