Obituary of Calvin M. Watkins
Calvin Murray Watkins, 79, of Grand Manan, New Brunswick, passed away surrounded by his family, on November 6, 2022, at the Grand Manan Hospital.
Calvin was born in Yarmouth N.S on August 4, 1943, to the late David and Julia (Wyman) Watkins. He as a child had moved to Westport N.S. At the age of seventeen Calvin then moved to Grand Manan.
Calvin is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Carol (Taylor) Watkins of Grand Manan. He is also survived by his children Troy Watkins, Tracy Watkins, Terry (Randy) Parker and Todd (Lori) Watkins, grandchildren Adam (Cassie), Noah (Dana), Skylar (Zoey), Japeth (Ashlynn) and Keyauna Parker and Liam Watkins (Jordan), his great grandchildren Lucy, Jared, Brooke, and Gwen Parker, and Riley Clinch all of Grand Manan and many nieces and nephews. Calvin also is survived by his special neighbours Arthur(Chantal) Middleton and their children Gabrielle, Zoey, and Jesse. He is also survived by one sister Venora Ellis (Ontario) and sisters-in-law Jean Watkins and Mary Watkins . Calvin was predeceased by his parents, brothers Reginald, David and Leonard Watkins and sisters Helen Bower, Violet Hartman, and Myrtle Snowball.
The family would like to thank all the staff of the Grand Manan Hospital for their excellent care in the few days he was there.
Relatives and friends are welcome to come join the family at his funeral service at the North Head Baptist Church, on Saturday, November 12 at 1:00 with Rev. David Phillips officiating. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen NB E3L2B2.
