Calvin Strandquist
April 1962 ~ December 2022
Calvin Dean Strandquist passed away unexpectedly at home at the age of 60 years.
He went to Botha School from grade 1 to grade 9 then on to Wm E. Hay High School for grade 10 – 12 and even part of “grade 13.” In years to follow he worked as a carpenter for Rick Shepherd and Lyle Cassidy. He loved the rodeo, rode barback horses and loved riding bulls. He moved from the rodeo family into the chuckwagon family and worked for Neal Walgenbach. He took pride in all the horses and cared for them deeply. His love for horses led him to the racetrack. Training for his dad, Clifford, Don Litvak and others but then finally had a few he owned. He was proud of his horses and loved to race the racetrack family.
He was extremely proud of Lora and Cally and loved them to the moon and stars.
Calvin will be missed. Calvin is survived by his wife of 35 years Lora Strandquist; his daughter Cally Strandquist (fiancé Levi Erickson); his mother Louella Strandquist; brother Brad (Kathy) Strandquist; nephew Cody Strandquist; other relatives and many dear friends.
Predeceased by his grandparents Richard and Margaret Strandquist, Ches and Lottie Arnold, still born son Charelton April 9, 1991, his father Clifford September 23, 2021
