M.C. Yvette’s Obituary
VALOTAIRE, M. C. Yvette – Age 95, of The Meadows, Yarmouth, formerly of Meteghan Center, passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2022. Born in Kénogamie, Jonquière, Québec, she was the daughter of the late Médéric and Hélène (D’Amour) Bouchard. Yvette was employed at the Royal Bank when she met her husband and they moved to Church Point in 1957. They later moved to Meteghan in 1965 and while living there Yvette began working as a reporter for Le Petit Courrier. Later she went to work at the Bishopry on various projects for the Yarmouth Diocese. Yvette was very active in her community and served as president of La Chorale de la Baie Sainte-Marie as well as volunteer for the Cancer Society and les Richeliettes. She enjoyed travelling and made several trips to Europe and Louisiana. Yvette is survived by daughters, Colette (Marcel) Thibodeau; Michele (Denis Robichaud) Valotaire; son, André (Linda); grandchildren, Adrian (Tina Frost), Clarice, Lisette (Steve Forbes), Renette (Tom Haylock), Charlaine (George Bourque), Rainier; great-grandchildren Max-André and Blaise; sisters Gabrielle Bouchard; Rolande (Gerald) Valdron). She was predeceased by her husband Marcel; brothers Reynald, Guy; Maurice and Gérard in infancy; sisters Cécile, Colette in infancy. A very special thank you goes out to the staff and volunteers at Au Logis de Meteghan and The Meadows, Yarmouth, for the wonderful care given during the last few years. A private graveside service will be held in Stella Maris Cemetery in Meteghan Center. Donations may be made to the Meteghan Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.
