Butler, Emily Louise ‘Bitsy’
Emily Louise Butler ‘Bitsy’ passed away quietly at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound with her family by her side on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the age of 72.
Born in Kitchener on November 26, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Emily (nee Craig) Norris.
Emily was predeceased by her husband Phillip James Butler.
She was the kindhearted mother of Sonya Butler (Cecil) of Owen Sound, Charles Butler (Nicole) of Meaford, and William ‘Billy’ Butler (Anita) of Owen Sound, and the proud Grandma of Anthony, Ryder, Harley, William ‘Billy’ Jack, Addison, and Nixon. She was predeceased by her Grandsons Damian and Jaxon.
Bitsy was well known for her love of family and extended family. She would do anything for anyone, especially her family. She loved the Beatles, Toronto Maple Leafs, and her coffee. You could always find her watching the hockey game with her Timmies coffee in hand, and during commercials you would find her doing her many puzzle books. Her favorite holiday was Easter, where she would take immense joy in spoiling her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.
She was well known for her independence, which could turn into quite a stubborn streak. But underneath her stubbornness, she had a huge heart of gold. She had quite the compassion and understanding that many people looked at her as a second mom.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca
