It is with sadness we announce the death of B. Frances Gallinger, (nee Dumoulin), loving wife of E. Milton Gallinger, (predeceased), daughter of Aldege Dumoulin and Dora Forget, (predeceased), mother of Michael, (predeceased), sister to Frank, Kathleen Cuillerier, Roderick, Doria Sanderson, Milton, Edwina, and Ivy, (all predeceased).
It was through a lengthy battle with Cancer that she finally succumbed to endless slumber on the 26th day of February, 2022 in her 93rd year in Gravenhurst, ON.
Frances was a Corporal in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served honourably and proudly from 1950-1953 servicing our country and foreign allies with competency and grace.
She served across this country on the Dew Line post WW2 and was never recognised for her heroic mission to save American pilots off course in the Rocky Mountains. Frances was humble and proud to have saved lives and honour her Canadian integrity.
She met Milton during Badminton tournaments and married in 1967 in Huntingdon, PC, going on to raise a family in Cornwall, ON.
After a move to AB, Frances went on to use her skills as a leader to dispatch emergency responders in Airdrie AB, once again saving countless lives.
We shall hold dear the memories of care and strength she instilled in those she loved and loved her in return. With the deepest of gratitude, we shall cherish our own lives as being better because Frances was part of it.
Frances will be lovingly remembered by surviving family, her children; Gail, (Perry), Greg, (Marianne), grandchildren; Ryan, (Patricia), Logan, Nevan, Timothy, Joseph, Geoffrey, Benjamin, great grandchildren; Paige, Bailee and Olivia, brother Allison Dumoulin and special nieces and nephews.
We are grateful for the caregivers at Muskoka Shores Community Care for their attentive, loving and dignifying responses to Frances in her final years and for being with her when we could not. You are valued and appreciated!
Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worlsey St., Barrie. A private family service will take place.
