Bryan’s Obituary
Macaulay, Bryan Alexander – 87, Pugwash, passed away peacefully November 6, 2022, at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Springhill he was a son of the late Donald and Julia Ann (Bryan) Macaulay. Bryan had spent most of his life working for himself. He owned and operated a beef farm, butchering, cutting and delivering meat locally; he was a dealer for Massey Ferguson and Belarus, a life insurance agent for Maritime Life, had owned and operated “The Trial Farmers Market” for many years as well as Macaulays Lawn Care and Snow Removal Business. Bryan was athletic and enjoyed playing baseball, hockey, badminton, golf and dancing. In his younger years he and his team mates won the baseball Atlantic Championship. Bryan was an active member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Parish and a former member of the Pugwash Fire Department, the Northumberland Links Golf Club, as well as a former director of the school board and the hospital board. He and Ellen enjoyed spending many winters at their home in Florida. Bryan loved his family unconditionally and always enjoyed their company. He is survived by his wife, Ellen (MacDonald), children, Mary Elizabeth Macaulay (Bruce Maxwell), Bedford, Donald Roderick (Pauline Dowe), Pugwash, Paul Alexander (Jo-Anne), Truro, Katherine Jane (Adrian) Patriquin, Truro, Marsha Jo (Carl) Blackwell, Pugwash; grandchildren Christa, Christopher, Melissa, Matthew, Adam, Sarah, Nicholas, Samantha, Blair, Taylor, Branden, Kayla, Riley; great grandchildren, Ellie, Hannah, Hayden, Aunika, Kinzleigh, Walker, Keiran, Ariana, Alaina, Keegan, Jacob, Cierra, Jaxon, Rowan, Benjamin, Carter, Sophie, Caysen; sister, Mary Harper, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Catherine in infancy. A celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Mundle’s Funeral Home, Pugwash.
