Obituary of Bruce Norman Connolly
Age 73, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on November 29, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late James and Avadne (MacLeod) Connolly.
Bruce attended Sir George Williams University where he received a Bachelor of Arts, while also getting his Bachelor of Education at Acadia in 1973. He began his teaching career at Hants West Rural High School in 1973 and worked there until his retirement in 2003. Bruce was known as a big jokester who always had a new joke to share with others and enjoyed some political banter. He loved The Rolling Stones and had a huge collection of vinyl records. He was also an avid stamp collector and Montreal Canadiens fan and he would never miss a game. Bruce loved being by the water and going for country drives but he especially loved his grandkids.
Bruce is survived by his partner, Bonnie Church, Windsor; daughters, Michèle (Ian) Van Zoost, Windsor; Angie (Ashley) Shepherd, Edmonton; grandchildren, Pacey, Zoë and Declan; as well as long-time friends, Randy, Bob and Tom.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Danielle (Brunette) Connolly; and sister, Heather Hughes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no service by request. A private family graveside will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, at a later date. Donations in memory of Bruce may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St. Halifax, NS B3H 1S6. Mr. Connolly, was the most influential teacher regarding my life. He taught me about the world in history and geography. I have travelled the world because of his influence. He was a great teacher. My condolences to all.
