Bruce Avery
1944-2022
Bruce Raymond Avery, of Black Point, died August 10th, 2022
at 78 years, with his children by his side. Born in Dartmouth, he was
a son of the late Willard and Ethel (Laffin) Avery
Bruce was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Hawker
Siddley/Trenton Works for 47 years.
Bruce is survived by former wife, Jacqueline (Frosst) Avery
and their children, Bruce (Debbie Fraser) and Melissa (Kevin Zinck);
six grandchildren, Dustin, Jake (Brianna Taylor), Brandie, Brittany,
Sara and Jason; three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Jaxon and Carson;
brothers, Douglas (Patricia) of Terence Bay, Grant (Maureen) of
Dartmouth, and David of Dartmouth; sisters, Marsha (John) Thibideau of
Annapolis Valley, and Cheryl (Carl) Sarazin of Ottawa; and many nieces
and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, Bert and
Gertrude Laffin; a brother, Laurie; and chosen brother, Richard
Laffin.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be
held at 2pm on Monday, August 15 in Priestville Cemetery. Donations in
his Bruce’s memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA or
CARMA Cat Rescue Maritimes Pictou County Chapter. Arrangements are
under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New
Glasgow.
