Obituary of Brian Edwin Walker
It is with deep sadness, the family announces the death of Brian Edwin Walker of Lower Millstream, NB, husband of Linda (Martin) Walker, which occurred on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with his loving family at his side. He was born on April 15, 1953 in Sus, NB, a son of Edna (Friars) Walker and the late Frank Walker.
Brian is survived by his much loved and cherished wife of 40 years, Linda; he was the beloved father to daughter Danielle Walker (Craig Merritt) of Calgary, AB; sons: Ryan Walker of Chilliwack, BC, Michael (Jessica) Walker of Chilliwack, BC, Jeremy (Katie Hartai) Walker of Norton, NB; special niece Trina Kitchen (Michel Côté) and their children: Rylee, Alexie, Jaye. He was tremendously proud of his grandchildren Henry, Evan, Anna and Ada “Addie.” He is also survived by his sisters: Linda (Harley) Hunt, Patsy (Dean) Clarke; brothers: David (Susan) Walker, Daryl (Ruth) Walker, Jeff (Suzanne) Walker; brother-in-law Frank (Carol) Martin; he will also be remembered and sadly missed by several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his father, Brian was also predeceased by his infant brother Gregory; sisters-in-law: Mary (Bob) Williams, Wanda (George) Christie; mother-in-law Annie Martin and father-in-law John Martin.
Brian was a community man, generous with his time especially when it came to what he loved. For Brian this was teaching, farming and most importantly, his family.Brian was a devoted partner to his wife, Linda. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly, spending as much time with them as he could. Brian’s family was truly his pride and joy.
He was also a dedicated teacher. Brian started his teaching career with three fondly remembered years at North Minto. He then proudly returned to Sus where he thoroughly enjoyed 30 meaningful years at Sus Regional High School. There, he coached many sports teams and was proud to foster a love for agriculture in youth.
Brian and Linda built their family farm from the ground up. Brian loved working on the farm and especially working with his Salers cows. He was also a dedicated supporter of the Coop movement, Soil and Crop Association and an active 4H leader.
Brian will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus (506) 433-1176 from where visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 6 to 8PM, Monday, December 19, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM. A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 2:00PM.
Memorial donations in memory of Brian, may be made to the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
