Bumstead; Brian Seymour
With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Brian on December 30, 2021, of Owen Sound, formerly of Holland Centre in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Pearl for over 46 years. Loving brother of Gary and his wife Linda of Owen Sound, and Karl of St. Mary’s. Loved and remembered by sister in law Lynda of London, brother in law Russ(Jan) of New Brunswick, James(Monica) of Mount Elgin, Barb Whitney of Guelph and Catherine Whitney of Sarnia. Proud and adoring uncle of Kevin(Amanda), Jeff(Sarah) and David(Amanda) Bumstead, Jessica(Mark) Searle, Cara(Issac) Baskovic, Marissa(Andrew) Jones, Melody(Mark) Owen, Chelsea, Alise and Matthew(Morgan) Whitney. Brian is predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Marie and brothers in law Dean Whitney and Heinz Bauch.
Brian was the kindest and most hardworking man you could find. He retired from his career with Bell Canada in 1997 and spent the following 13 years with various positions of work before finding his exit career at Ice River Springs for 10 years. Brian and Pearl lived on the big beautiful, immaculately maintained farm for 43 years and had recently made the decision to move into Owen Sound and start their retirement. He loved farming and all things agriculture. His passion was in Simmental cattle. Brian and Pearl raised pure bread and full blood Simmental called and he held many positions with the Grey Bruce Simmental Club. Brian and Pearl were the co-chairs of the International Plowing Match in 2004 in Meaford, a 5 year commitment with countless hours spent planning and organizing. He lived a very colourful life in his community as a Director at Participation Lodge, sitting on Chatsworth Town Council during the amalgamation years, and as a founding member of the Holland Centre Lions Club. Brian will be greatly missed by his entire community.
