Brian Lester
Manthorne – 64, Murray
Siding. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian
Lester Manthorne on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Colchester East Hants
Health Centre, Truro. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late
Willis Manthorne and Greta (Smith) (Manthorne) Titus.
Brian was a valued employee of Intertape Polymer for 40
years, and left his job in 2014 due to health issues. Always willing
to lend a hand, Brian would help others whenever he was able. He
enjoyed going to auctions and had a particular interest in restoring
antique clocks. Brian and his K-9 companion, Sierra, had a very
special bond; she was truly his dog and she will miss being spoiled by
him!
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia
“Patty” (Corbett); children, Justine (Nick) Marren, Ottawa;
Holly Manthorne (Chris), Salmon River; Mitchell Manthorne, Murray
Siding; grandchildren, William Nelson, Zachery Marren, Bella Marren,
Kylee Turnbull; sisters, Betty (David) Teed, Debert; Barb Corkum
(Michael Hersey), Belmont; brother, Andy Manthorne (Dianne Corbett),
Truro; half-sister, Kim Hanlan, Liverpool; sister-in-law, Pat
Manthorne, Moose Harbour; several nieces and nephews. Along with his
parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Terry
Manthorne.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Stephanie Butt and VON
(Colchester East Hants) for their care and support. Honouring
Brian’s wishes, there will be no service. If so desired,
donations in Brian’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation
are welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of
condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Brian’s

My deepest sympathy to Patty and family. I knew Brian for many years. He was thought of as a family member and trusted friend. I always looked forward in seeing him. Brian was well liked, had a great personality and an infectious smile. He enjoyed teasing and laughing and didn’t take anything too seriously. I will miss Brian immensely. Rest in peace you dear soul!
