Obituary
COOK, Brenda May – January 16,1961 – November 21, 2022
Brenda -A timeless classic! Was born to Isobel Ruth (nee Guild) and Edmund Cecil Law in Mississauga, although she always considered Halton Hills her home. Brenda was one of six children and this was where the competitive edge was instilled at such a young age.
Brenda loved her family immensely! She married Tom in 1980 and together they had four wonderful children, Thomas (Krystal) Cook, Robynn (Derek) Naylor, William (Meaghan) Cook and Katelynn Cook
Don’t poke ‘The Mama Bear’ though because she could become fierce when they were young cubs growing up. Also, ‘Mama Bear’ hugs were plentiful.
Brenda absolutely adored and loved her grandchildren, Nadalynn, Charlie, Nora, Molly, Douglas and Isobel. They will cherish all the silly antics and games played with Nana Brenda.
Brenda was humble and kind to all. She was determined and could be a bit stubborn at times. As well as furiously independent! Brenda loved nature and the great outdoors. Don’t let her small stature fool you though, she could arm wrestle like no other. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles and reading. She would often be found singing and dancing in the kitchen. And she baked the best biscuits, scalloped potatoes and cherry cheesecake. Yes, she enjoyed life!
Brenda was a rock! She always stayed calm and cool in a storm. Hence, the nickname ‘Storm’ in her motorcycle world. Travel was always a big part of Brenda’s agenda with family and friends. It became her priority and she was always excited to share her travel tales. Clever comedy or a play on words would always induce a smile or a laugh. People cannot survive without a little humour in their life.
Brenda was brave!
Often referred to as ‘The Grey Owl’ or ‘Brenda Braveheart’ – we shall miss your huge heart, courage, bravery, poise, grace and beautiful smile! Brenda will be forever in our hearts!
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated. To send expressions of sympathy, please visit www.jonesfuneralhome.co
