The family of Bonnie “Gram” Hanson is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on May 8th, 2022, in Stony Plain, AB, at the age of 71.
Gram is survived by her mother Nona (Martin); daughter Ona; grandchildren: Kevin (Ashley), Daylen, Rylan, Grayson; and her great-grandchildren: Cayde and Ellie.
She was predeceased by her father Don Hanson, and brother Buck.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westview Health Centre for the support and care given to Gram and her family during this difficult time. It will always be remembered.
It is impossible to put into words the impact this loss will have. We will miss our fiery ginger (strawberry blonde according to Gram); our flamingo t-shirt wearing, coffee loving, Viking enthusiast, always asking if we watched last night’s game before she takes a nap with one of her great grandkids. Her old hippie stories, her tales of adventures riding horses, and her collection of khaki capris remind those who knew her of the fun loving, up for anything, bigger than life approach she took to living. She could go anywhere and talk to anyone and make a friend for life. Gram’s affinity for collecting strays, animal and people alike, will be sorely missed. Grams’s house was always open, always had room for one more, and there was always a plate of warm food for anybody showing up at any time. She was everyone’s Gram. NFL Sunday will never be the same.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB.
